You know your a mom when...

There have been many moments in the last *gasp* almost five months where I have thought that this is totally a mom moment. I have heard about these things from friends and thought how funny but I never knew about the little things that are the marks of motherhood.  So here it goes.

You know your a mom when:

-you cry literally cry over split milk. Spilt breast milk that is. Yes, this happened to me on not one but two different occasions. That stuff is like GOLD!

You know your a mom when:

- you peak in someones diaper to see whats in there

You know your a  mom when:

- you are so tired that you don't care that you are covered in spit up. You crawl back in bed for those precious and fleeting moments of sleep.

You know your a mom when:

- you wash like in the laundry a dirty diaper

You know your a mom when:

- you no longer carry a purse. You throw your phone and wallet in the diaper bag and off you go.

You know your a mom when:

- Its 10 pm and you realized you haven't eaten all day but you have fed a baby more times that you can count

You know your a mom when:

- you rock back and forth ALL THE TIME whether or not you are holding a baby. I've caught myself doing this on many occasions

You know your a mom when:

- you finally lay down at night and you hear baby songs in your head.

You know your a mom when:

- you literally pray to GOD for the baby to take a nap.

Ok so these are my moments!  Welcome to motherhood!!  It's already been quite a ride and I am excited for the rest of it!

Just because I cant resistt here a few pictures of my favorite babies in the whole world! Love them to pieces.

Happy Monday!!

One More Thing

I feel like I have learned so much this last year and my life will forever be different. Not bad different but wonderfully different. Do I miss being able to run to target or take a nap when I want. Yes, but I wouldn't change our lives for all the target trips in the world.  I feel lately there is always one more thing to do. There is always bottles to wash, a floor to be vacuumed, dishes to be put away, laundry to be done, showers to be taken, baths to be given, baby food to make, or groceries to be bought. But what I would prefer to be doing is holding a baby or playing with these precious faces and that's fine with me. The laundry will be there, the house will be clean someday, emails will get returned but in the meantime I will love every minute of these babies and I will pray every night that I will not take these moments for granted!

Here are a few pictures of our sweet babies. I will warn you most of these are iphone pictures so they are not the best quality.

Oh Lordy!

We have been busy here!  Yesterday we went to the pulmonologist to assess Emma and Levi's RSV risk and to check out Levi's asthma!  It was an interesting appointment.

Both babies will be receiving the RSV prevention shot called synagis. They qualify for this shot because they were premature.  They will receive five shots over five months starting at our next appointment in October.  Oh RSV and your looming threat of sickness! I'm terrified of us getting this! Come late October we will be becoming shut ins! Boo!  The doctor recommends staying away from church, restaurants, stores, anyone who is sick and most kids. Yippee sounds fun! So will we make an appearance come April! Ha!  We are playing it by ear when it comes to holidays. As long as no one is sick and if everyone has had a flu vaccine we are planning on attending. Keep your fingers crossed because I will be most upset if we cant go to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

As far as Levi's asthma goes we aren't really sure what is going on there. He definitely wheezes and he does it throughout the day almost everyday.  The pulmonogist believes it could be from his reflux.  Because he has been refluxing for so long the doctor believes his airways are irritated causing the wheezing.  Both Levi and Emma will be having a swallow study done to see what is going on with the reflux.  We have started doing breathing treatments on Levi twice a day and we are hoping that it will clear it up!  We go back to the pulmonogist for a recheck and their first RSV shot in early October.

We have also started more baby food!!! Last night they had sweet potatoes for the first time and it was interesting!  We will keep trying!  Here are  a few pictures!

I cant believe I let this happen! Luckily he threw up all over it! ha

At the doctor! doesn't Levi look huge! He weighs 12 lbs 15 oz and Emma weighs 10 lbs 11 oz.

Yep you guessed it! Emma is teething. Luckily I think it is just starting and hasn't been bad yet! keep your fingers crossed!

Four months old

I know I say this every month but I really cannot believe that the babies are four months old! It really has flown by and while I am ready for this newborn baby phase to be over I am a little sad that they are growing up so fast!  Emma and Levi have had a busy month.  We went many new places and learned a lot of different things like they are not ready for restaurants! Ha!  During this last month we went: to Old Navy, the eye Dr, the pediatrician, children's hospital, Mimi's house, my sisters house, school and Chuys!  We are slowly trying to take the babies more places but come October we will be basically shut ins until April.  October begins RSV season and it is DANGEROUS for the babies to get this.  So we will be basically living at home with the occasional visitor!

A few other exciting things happened during the babies fourth month. Levi rolled over! He has only done it a handful of times but we are still working.  Both babies have started smiling and I am absolutely in love with those little gummy grins. Levi started laughing and it is hysterical! We have been going on morning walks now that it is not as hot as the sun in Texas. They love their walks and it helps them to take a good morning nap! We have also started sleep training the babies and they are starting to get the hang of it. They usually eat a bottle and go to bed somewhere between 7-8 and then we dream feed them around 11  and they sleep until between 6:30- 7:30.  We are still trying to nail down a daily routine but one thing at a time! This month we also started rice cereal.  It has been slow going as they just aren't used to it but they are starting to get the hang of it!  Here are their four month letters:"

Dear Emma aka pretty princess, precious darling, angel, Emma delima, pumpkin~

Mommy and Daddy are so in love with you!  You are the sweetest little thing and you rarely cry. They only time you cry is when you have a tummy ache or are really hungry. Your smile makes my heart sing and I fall in love with you more and more each day,. You are still tiny and mommy worries you are not gaining enough weight!  You are a pretty good sleeper and usually have to be woken up to eat because your brother is starving.  You love to swing or sit in the bouncy but your favorite place to sleep is on daddy's chest!  We love you so much Emma Gentry and can't wait to watch you grow!

Four month stats:

Dear Levi  aka mr.man, cutie, grump, oscar the grouch, grumpy,

You are such a funny little guy! You are the grumpiest little boy Ive ever known.  You are not happy unless you are eating!  You have started smiling and it makes so happy to see that little grin!  You have also started laughing and it is the best sound in the world!  I cant wait to see my little grump grow up! I know you are destined to do great things!  Mommy and Daddy love you Levi William!

You have been diagnosed with asthma. We aren't sure that you actually have it yet but you are on your way. Breathing treatments should be interesting!

At our four month checkup the dr said the babies are doing well. We are supposed to work on the gross motor skills and will be getting an evaluation by ECI (early childhood intervention) to see if they need any extra support!  Here are some pictures from the last month!
